Distance Sprinter
is the musical stylings of Cincinnati, Ohio’s Joel Borton. With a history in music in projects ranging from Folk, to Post-Hardcore, to Surf Pop, Distance Sprinter is where Borton has found his home in songwriting. Reflecting on themes of loss, guilt, and love, the Dreamy Heartland Rock performed by Borton and his band, at times, operates as a therapy session where stream lyrics flow like a stream of consciousness and guitars scream like a cry of relief.
Distance Sprinter’s recent album, Junglebird, explores the journey of love lost. With themes of hope to melodies of deep sorrow, Junglebird is as emotional a ride as any breakup or missed connection. The follow-up single, Scorpions, makes a statement about moving on, leaving behind the rose tinted memories of past loves.
